CFWC is pleased to announce the recipients of its Spring Community Grants Cycle!
While this unusual season of COVID-19 has impacted every part of our lives, the CFWC Governing Council chose to use this grant cycle opportunity to respond to the immediate needs of our community. The Governing Council elected to grant a majority of its $20,00 cycle to seed White County United Way’s new COVID-19 Response Fund, totaling $13,622.
In addition, three other awards were granted:
• $2000 to the White County Council on Aging to help install new flooring in the Great Room at the White County Senior Center
• $1838 to the YWCA Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program, for support of services to White County women and families
• $2500 to Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Center for a new fence at the center
The Foundation received a record number of worthy applications for the Spring cycle, for which the Governing Council was very grateful. In light of the current pandemic, Council elected to award grants to organizations whose services are more critical during this unprecedented time. However, all Spring applications will be reviewed again for consideration at a later time.
It’s no surprise that the world around us is changing every day - even every hour - as we endure this COVID-19 pandemic. Your Community Foundation of White County is not immune to this abrupt change and is readily adapting to best secure the needs in our community.
